High-Speed Broadband Internet Connection Guidelines

Review the following factors that may affect your high-speed broadband internet experience and adjust your internet environment as needed.

Connecting to the Internet via Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)

According to standards set by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), devices must use the 802.11n specification to support transmission speeds above 50Mbps; devices must use the 802.11ac specification (5GHz band, 80MHz or higher bandwidth, and at least support 2T2R transmission mode) to potentially support transmission speeds above 300Mbps. Since wireless networks are easily affected by spatial obstructions, overlapping frequency bands, and the number of simultaneous users, it is recommended to connect directly to the modem via an Ethernet cable for connection speed testing or to enhance the user experience.

Insufficient Performance of Network Peripheral Devices

IP routers, switches, hubs, and other devices with poor processing performance may affect transmission speed and stability. Please confirm with the original equipment manufacturer whether the device supports high-speed broadband. To check if peripheral devices are affecting your computer's transmission speed, it is recommended to temporarily remove these devices and connect a single computer directly to the telecom company’s modem, then perform a speed test.

MOD Running Concurrently

If you rent a 50Mbps (or higher) internet service and are simultaneously watching MOD, the MOD will share bandwidth with the internet.

Poor Computer Performance

If the CPU is overloaded or there is insufficient memory or hard drive space, it will directly impact the computer's transmission speed. Please refer to the "Broadband Internet Personal Computer System Requirements" to choose appropriate computer specifications.

Multiple Computers Online Simultaneously

Sharing the network among multiple users or transferring files (such as uploading, downloading, or P2P) will occupy bandwidth and affect computer transmission speed. To conduct a speed test, connect a single computer directly to the telecom company’s modem and temporarily remove other network cables connected to the modem.

Laptop in Low Power Mode

If a laptop is not connected to a power outlet, it may enter low power mode, leading to reduced performance and consequently affecting the computer's transmission speed.

Antivirus Software Scanning Network Traffic

Some antivirus software may scan network transmissions in real-time, potentially causing a reduction in the computer's transmission speed. Please confirm with the antivirus software provider whether these features affect the computer's transmission performance.
